Hello fellow Blutopian's, we hope this news finds you well.
Account security
We are still seeing a number of user accounts being compromised. This is another reminder to use strong passwords. Blutopia supports passwords exceeding 100 characters.
Please check your accounts (from your user profile) for any clients that you are not currently using, also paying close attention to invites sent from your account. On the right hand side of your user profile, you can click the invites link under 'ID & Permissions' to view the invites you have sent from your account. If you notice a strange client or an invite that you haven't sent, please file a helpdesk ticket immediately.
Previously, compromised accounts were given severe restrictions limiting their freedom of using Blutopia. Moving forward from this news article, you may find an unwillingness of staff to re-enable your account if it has been compromised. Your user account is always your responsibility, please help protect the security of the site and its userbase.
Rule additions and minor alterations
During the last few months there have some additions to the rules and minor alterations to existing rules. These have all been in an attempt to ensure clarity for all parties involved. Please take a moment to refresh through our site rules. Of particular note, we encourage responsible bug reporting.
uTorrent 3.6 and newer client ban
Beginning in version 3.6, uTorrent began adding public trackers to all torrents, including private torrents such as those from Blutopia. As a result, we are left with no choice but to ban this client from version 3.6 and newer.
Requests - Best practices
To assist with the proper use of the request system, we have created a list of best practices for using the request system. Please read through this short summary to assist in maximizing the request system/your request.
Dolby Vision Encodes/WEBRips
There's been some changes to the manner in which players obey cropping/active area in Dolby Vision encodes and webrips. If you release or upload Dolby Vision releases, please see this forum thread.
